Coarse fishing...

It's not just the carp that make these lakes attractive to fish. Both lakes contain some cracking coarse fish and even better still the are rarely angled for. Jenkins contains a good head of Tench to 10lbs with the average around 5lbs - 6lbs. On the right tackle these fish provide great sport and 20+ fish in a session is not uncommon. Large Rudd are also a dominate species in Jenkins with a good head over 2lbs. A 3lbs Rudd would not surprise us if caught. The same applies to the Roach although fewer in number than the Rudd. Crucians are also worth a try although if its Crucians you like then Churchwood is the better option. Several Crucians approaching the 4lbs mark have been caught from Churchwood and we are confident that there's a 4lbs Crucian waiting to be caught. That would be a truly awesome fish and certainly worthy of investing some time in capturing. There are also some clonking Bream to double figures in Churchwood that make regular appearances to the carp fishermen. In the colder months there are big Perch to be had, Jenkins holding the bigger specimens with some in the 3lbs-4lbs bracket.

Top Tips
Fishing the nearside margin under the rod tip is the favoured method for most of these species on both lakes. Maggots, corn, meat and pellet all take their fair share of fish.

Keep nets are not permitted at the fishery and please remember that only barbless hooks are to be used.
